Hi there, my name is Nikola and I make custom (bicycle) electronics in Rueil-Malmaison, France.

How did I get here?

I genuinely thought I would dedicate my life to the life sciences. There were some (advanced) university degrees in between and the research job here and there, however, no matter how much i (subconsciously) fought it, I eventually went head first into electronics…in 2019…on my kitchen table.

I didn’t even know what a resistor was and I knew I really wanted to build custom bikes. While the bike thing is still valid, It would be fair to say that probably more than 80% of my riding would not have been possible without LEDs, so this among others is one of the reasons I remain fascinated by electronics in general and bicycle dynamos and LEDs in particular.

About 5 years later, with a lot of burned components behind me…., I mean know-how and experience later, Purple Dog Custom was born to bring the same products that have made me enjoy riding, available to everybody. I design, make and sell custom and innovative bicycle electronics such as LED lights and charging solutions and sometimes the bicycles to go with them.
